Graphic Organizers may be a useful way for students to organise their thoughts when decomposing a problem.
This could be a cute way to have young students thinking about how certain animals or things behave/act for activities that involve students giving instructions or developing stories around a sequence of actions. "Materials: Construction paper, computer paper   Have students list words that describe what the reindeer are, can do, and have.  This would be a great prewriting activity for any subject." You don't need a computer to explore programming movement. In the younger years, children could be familiarised with language (e.g. up, down, left, right) they may encounter when using visual programming in later years. As a class students can work out what instructions lead them to an end-point. We have some pictures as examples: ants and the ant hole, mars rover, bees, but you could also instruct other creatures or characters (goldilocks) depending on your theme or align it with a story book!
