Eastern principles of Asian decorating are geared to promote balance between the outer world and the inner self. The home becomes an extension of the spirit. By using principles of space and form, and by recognizing our relationship to our environment, it is possible to create a home that is in tune with both our inner spirit and the world we live in...I Love You Japan!

A young woman in traditional Samurai garb. The status of samurai as predominately horse archers has been overlooked, in part due to the media obsession with the Tokugawa period. Much like the plate armoured knight in European history, the era of the courtly swordsman is actually just a small moment in time in the history of the Samurai. On horseback with a bow would be the more consistent portrait if taking into account the full sweeping history of the warrior caste of Japan.
