It is so lovely light and warm, that these gloomy days I am wearing it all the time as an extra layer. That said, it is kind of hard to photograph, so I did go outside to catch some light and get the details. The top layer is a black cotton from stash, summer weight to avoid the jacket becoming stiff. The inside fabric is an equally thin block print cotton by Merchant & Mills, ordered by accident, that is, being black and white instead of blue and white the colour wasn't what I expected. It seemed like a good idea to use it for lining my Tamarack. Inbetween the two layers there's a cotton batting with a bit of polyester and the three of them were quilted with blue machine sewing thread. To make it easier on myself I decided to go for straight lines but a bit more playful than the ones the pattern suggest. So I started with some base lines from left to right, building up from there, and I quite like the pattern it resulted in. The whole was bound with handmade bias tape from the outer fabric. I considered binding it with some blue fabric, as to match the quilting lines but thought it might become too much of a frame then.
