This led to (Madison) to make the Tariff of 1816 protect american goods from foreign products After War of 1812, British manufacturers saw America as a business place, because British factory could produce a cheaper product than American company which led some of American business collapse Even higher tariffs in 1818 and 1824 North : Favored But!, South : Unfavored!
