I made a very simple noodle bench using a 2x8 board that I cut down to 4ft and 2x4 legs cut at 18inches with 10° angle cuts on either side (you want them parallel). To achieve the worn look I used a sawzall, plainer and 80 grit sandpaper. After that I resanded with 100 grit to smooth it out so it wasn’t rough. You can really customize this to make it however you want or use different size boards. I used what I had and love how it turned out! . . For the stain I used true black stain in the cracks, wiped and then applied special walnut and wiped again. Sophie Murphy on Instagram: "Beam hack We couldn’t just go ahead and sand blast or even sand these beams back so I needed to find an alternative to lighten the paint that was already on them. I found this paint hack using chalk paint and browning wax and it’s honestly the quickest and simplest transformation that we’ve completed on the house. I also didn’t believe that it would work and genuinely look good. You know the reels “but will it actually work on my home?” … well, I can hand on heart say that it did on ours. Its as simple as: ➡️ use a chalk paint to paint on top of the beams ➡️ wait for paint to dry.
