I heard amazing things about Peel Away and thought it would work for my old door, but Smart Strip ended up working way better for me! This is likely because my door was painted after the 80s which is the type of paint Smart Strip works best on. The Dumond Paint Removal Test Kit has three different strippers to try and you’ll have plenty leftover for future projects as well. It’s worth every penny in my opinion! I linked all the products & tools I used on my LTK (in bio) or if it’s helpful, comment “strip” and a dm with links will be sent to your inbox 🩷 Comment “strip” for links ⬇ https://liketk.it/4UHVX | Hollyguffhouse

I’ve painted each of these projects, and they are always tedious, but the right prep and paint finish makes all the difference! Ceilings I do flat because flat or matte paint hides the most imperfections. Ceilings “usually” aren’t the best drywall or plaster jobs in a home, and they could use the forgiving finish of matte paint. Planking or high-touch woodwork is always pretty with a subtle glow of satin or eggshell paint. It wipes off easily, and the low luster reflects light without pointing out imperfections. Accent furniture or a surface that you have a LOT of time to perfect looks amazing in high gloss. It’s a gorgeous statement, and I think it’s best in limited applications, like a show piece desk! I always paint cabinets in satin because we have 6 sets of small hands opening our doors and drawers daily. It’s pretty and practical. I paint standard trim, like door casings and doors in semi gloss. It wipes so easily, and it’s a bit fancier. So there ya have it. #diyblogger #cabinetpainting #classichome #paintideas #grandmillennial #builtins #traditionalhome | Holy Mackerel House

Then I embed the banding and compress it tight into the corner. Excess mortar is removed with my sponge and I ensure the KERDI-BAND is flat, which is important for tile work. 10K views · 616 reactions | Tired of Brad nailer blow outs? Here’s a tip that you may not know. Brad nails are thin and tend to bend due to the way brad nails are designed. When they do bend, they’ll always go left or right—not front to back. To reduce blowouts, position your nailer perpendicular to the edge of the wood. This way, if the nail bends, it will go into the neighboring wood instead of causing damage. Always pay attention to the edge of the wood and anticipate which direction the nail might bend if it happens. Proper positioning makes all the difference! Save this tip for your next project and share it with a friend who needs it. #tooltips #beginnerdiy #nailers #powertoolsarefun | Rita Stapleton | DIY and Home
197K views · 2.2K reactions | Wall Aligner! | How to alight your wall! Fab-Form Industries wall Aligner. #construction #homerenovation #renovation #diy #realestate #design #entrepreneur #tools... | By Misha Panchishak | Right here is a zuckle wall aligner and let me show you why it's the best wall aligner that I've ever worked with. So, right here, you see that we have a string that goes from one plum corner to the other plum corner and we have a bit of a belly in the middle and I need to push that out before we start to do our roof. So, the way that we install this is we get this zuckle. We install that into our wall here. It attaches to our two by four, just a scrap piece of two by four and we screwed it into ground. Then I'm going to get my little racket here and then I'll just very gently start to open this up and then as I do that you'll see that we start to get a little bit closer and closer to that string. We don't want to touch the string. We want to be about eighth of an inch away from it. Maybe a little bit less. So this this allows for you to kind of push it, pull it, whatever you need to do with this. And then for us we don't really need it anymore of those. Um maybe I'll one more. Nah, I'm not going to add one more. I think we're fine right here. This is not that long of a span. What I'll do is I'll just add now that I've fixed it, I'm going to add one more fixed one So this will go right here. I'll put that into the ground there and then just fix this in right here like that and then this will be here until we're done with our entire roof framing job. That thing is awesome.

93K views · 17K reactions | When I’m painting trim, I always have inquiries on where I transition the color from one room to the next. I paint the entire casing, up to the door stop. I paint the edge of the door that faces the inside of the room the same color as the room trim, and I paint the hinge side of the door the same color as the trim and casing on the outside of the room. When the door is closed, everything you see from both sides matches the trim color in that room. Save for the next time you’re painting different trim colors! | Holy Mackerel House
