USS IOWA : Impressive power demonstration of battleship BB-61 firing its Mark 7 16 inch (50 calibre), guns off the starboard side (range, 23 miles / 37 km). Interestingly, she has a bathtub - installed for President Franklin D. Roosevelt when she carried him across the Atlantic to his 1943 meeting in Tehran with Winston Churchill and Josef Stalin. Nicknamed 'The Big Stick' she is on permanent display serving as a museum and memorial at the Port of Los Angeles.
