#DistanceLearningTPT I Spy Flashlight digraph TH Boom Cards: Looking for a fun way to have your students practice the digraph WH? This is a digital activity that has your students searching with a flashlight to find the words that begin with the WH sound. A by-product of this product is that you can review some vocabulary words that might not be so familiar to the student. BOOM CARDS ALLOW YOU TO PREVIEW THE ACTUAL PRODUCT CLICK PREVIEW FLASHLIGHT SEARCH One of the favorite therapy games was to darken the room and have children find the cards hidden around the room with a flashlight. It was a great way to get some drill work in. I am excited that there is a way to do this digitally! I created a BOOM DECK that allows the student to use the flashlight to find different words. I would have the students say the word (I have voiced all the cards as sometimes you have a non-reader or a student that does not know what the picture is). Then I would have them find the picture they drag the flashlight around the card to find the picture. I like them to say it and then say the digraph and press next. THE STUDENT DRAGS THE FLASHLIGHT OVER THE PAGE AND THE PICTURES ARE REVEALED. When we can engage students, they are more likely to do the drill that we are wanting to do THIS IS VOICED: No reading required! I found that so many of my students were not always able to read the content so I have made it so the student is listening rather than reading. I also found that what I thought was clear in a picture might not be for the child either because they looked at it differently or they did not have the vocabulary word. You can use this with students for articulation or for beginning readers to understand the sound of the digraph. You’ll click the link(s) to add each deck to your Boom library (if you do not already have an account, you will be prompted to set up a free one when you click the link). Why do I have to set up an account with Boom? To use Boom Cards, you must open at least a FREE Boom Learning Account (just like you have to have a Google account to use Google resources). Free accounts include the ability to generate student progress reports for 5 students and to make up to 5 DIY decks. Free accounts also allow you to assign Boom Cards to unlimited students (without progress reports) using the Fast Play pin option available in the Library. How many devices can I use these games with? As many as you like! One license allows you (one teacher) to use the games with all of your students. You can even assign them as homework if you like.
