Marcel Breuer [American, born Hungary, 1902–1981], "Wassily" chair frames for Knoll (1927–1928, aka "Club chair, model B3", aka "B3 chair"). This icon of Bauhaus design features a polished tubular steel frame & a backwards angle of 20 degrees, where the suspended leather or canvas seat provides surprising comfort. The chair was dubbed the "Wassily" chair when the Bauhouse instructor & painter Wassily (or Vasily) Kandinsky requested one for himself.
