Save your valuable time and print this ready-to-use main idea activity! Students infer the main idea by reviewing sets of themed picture cards in bags.
If using as a center/workstation: print out the bag tags, picture cards, and the student directions (in either B&W OR color-you dont need both) and laminate. Cut out and sort the picture cards into individual bags (brown/white paper bags and/or ziplock baggies work great!) according to the numbers (i.e. all of the 1s go into the same bag, etc.). Cut out and attach the bag tags to the front of each bag. Print out numerous student copies of the activity sheet. Place in center/workstation with the student directions, prepared bags, and pencils. This can also be done as an in-class activity!
*Note: I tried to include a variety of difficulty levels. However, you do not have to use all of the picture cards. If any of them are too easy/too hard for your particular group of studentsjust discard that particular picture card or set. I have also included blank templates so that you can add your own and/or have your students create additional sets.
