Enteral = Eat (food goes right into the stomach)
Used when the GI tract is functional but the patient cannot consume food by mouth
💉 Parenteral Nutrition
Administered through an IV, PICC, or central line.
Parenteral = Peripheral (bypasses the GI tract)
When the GI tract doesn’t absorb, process, or function properly
