Byeongsan Seowon in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province, was established in 1613 to pay tribute to the memory of Yu Seong-nyong (1542-1607). It is renowned for its picturesque landscape formed by the Nakdong River in front and Mt. Byeong lying beyond the river. It also features the architectural style of Korean Confucian academies, which seeks the "unity of heaven and human beings" ideology.
