This is one of the Armani empire design that David worked in order to showed the first launched its watches. This headline and design it ran as posters and print ads worldwide. You can see the headline playing with the picture purpose and also the contrast of bold and regular volume in the typography make it more attractive. Looks less formal while you see the lower case letter in the headline.

This is a piece David Carson made. I don't like to bash others work but I really don't get this piece. I can see some color connections between the font and the image but as an overall piece I don't know what he is trying to present to the viewer. I want to say it says speed 50 for people driving up the road in the background.

When David Carson worked with Pepsi Cola in one of Pepsi advertisiment, he showed a long paragraph of text in the shape of a pepsi can or bottle, making a entire paragraph saying all kind of things that relate to every part of the demographic in some way. Using a black color font, capitals, and the same size of the typography you can read all the expectation people had and with red color, lower case and big fonts you can red the final message from Pepsi.
