2021 Best of Year winner for Entertainment. It was the stage in its multiple aspects—a space for actors and performers, a focal point for audiences, and, above all, a mise-end-scène to be lit—that co-design directors Ajax Law and Virginia Lung of One Plus Partnership had firmly in mind when conceiving this seven-screen cinema complex. The project is the 2021 Best of Year winner for Entertainment.

Whilst the three theatres within the Lyric Theatre Complex draw their own distinct identities from the types of performing arts to which they cater, their designs follow a unified approach essential to both creating a complementary family of theatres and a coherent building. Each theatre therefore has its own distinct colour which relates to its function. This colour is not only applied in the auditoriums, but also in the correlating foyers, thus also acting as a means of wayfinding.

For the Palace Cinema Raffles City Changning, a 70,000-square-foot movie house in Shanghai,4n Design Architects referenced two sources: the script booklet and the flipbook. The former outlines a plot, while the latter creates a simple animation.
