I take it as a given that the work of Peter Max isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, but I’ve always been a fan. When I was a kid, this nifty green coffee pot was a fixture in my family’s kitchen, and what can I say, that insidious infiltration of my psyche must have left some residue, because I usually find that Max’s colorful, playful psychedelia has the effect of raising my spirits. 3rd graders learned about the artist Peter Max and his cosmic landscapes! Students first drew their landscape, adding sun rays and shapes in perspective. They then learned the wet on wet watercolor technique to understand how to blend colors together. Enjoy!
