Needlepoint grass stiches

I am still messing around with the grass on Summer Homes on the Pond. I am happy with the green hill in the upper left. I think the size of the stitch suits the area. Then I went on to the middle hill. I had previously used this stitch on the green hill In perspective It didn't look right to me. Below is another stitch from Ruth Schmuff's new book.
