Ra Maram located in Manchi reserve forest has been designed to align with the principles of cradle to grave concept, minimising the carbon footprint and embodied energy of the construction. The walls are of stabilised mud blocks with the foundation and certain feature walls, being of local Sadarhalli stone, sourced and sized from within the site. Hiraya Design Studio restored and refurbished an ancestral Mangalore villa with traditional Chettinad elements, Athangudi tiles, and antiques sourced from across India.

Rajas Cottage is a special project as the home is sited in the ancestral town of the client i.e. Mangalore. The Cottage is a 90 years old Mangalore styled villa with age old mud walls creaking and red oxide flooring that’s losing its stain and texture. The discomfort of not having attached bath areas and wardrobe spaces in bedrooms along with inadequate lighting in the entire home were some of the other drawbacks in the spatial planning.

The Seetharaman house is a refuge from the unforgiving heat and dismal tones of Chennai city by honouring the client's requirements at every turn. The central objective when designing the house is to create a spacious, bright, pleasant, and easy-to-maintain traditional Kerala style house using natural materials.
