La Fonda Francesa de Lala Ary [French Hotel] was a famous hotel in Binondo during Rizal's time. It was founded in the year 1810 by the American Firm Russell and Sturgis but it was later sold to a native Filipino Mestizo named Lala Ary. Rizal as a student in Manila stayed in this hotel for some time and in his famous book 'Noli Me Tangere', the lead character Crisostomo Ibarra temporarily stayed here before proceeding to San Diego.
