Stephanoxis lalandi, Green-crowned Plovercrest. Medium-sized hummingbird with an iridescent green body and short bill. It is endemic to Brazil, where it has a large range but is considered to be uncommon. Found in the understory of lowland and montane forests and light woodlands. Like most if not all hummingbirds, their diet consists of arthropods and nectar, and males will form leks with other males in order to attract females.
