I'm surprised outlets below 4' on a wall are allowed at all. They are so dangerous to kids and modern adults with the tripping and snagging. Falling lamp hospital visits are off the charts!

Trying to prevent every possible accident situation leads to ridiculous rules and new accidents start happening.

One of my most loved kitchen features is also the most controversial! When I first shared the hidden outlets in my island, I got LOTS of messages about this. 🙈🙊 “Not practical”. “What a waste of space”. “So you hit your hip every time you turn the corner” “code violation!” 😂😅😂. Here is the thing….I get it that people may be skeptical. But this is such a great solution for us and here’s why: Our kitchen has so much storage and so many drawers that using 2 drawers for hidden outlets makes a lot of sense for us. These outlets ARE NOT the primary outlets I use in the kitchen and I didn’t want them to be! We use these outlets for charging small things like phones and watches, and we put them in the door and close it. ⚡️ She installed a Blade Duo outlet into this metal drawer to create a charging station that will eliminate cord and device clutter from countertops
