Harmony drawing

This image shows a design with color harmony. The color scheme used in the design is split-complementary. The bright yellow is the one being complemented by the blue and purple. The main color, yellow, has a bright chroma while the split-complementary colors are darker hue. This helps us know which color complimented.

Harmony: There are a lot of instruments in this musical painting. The colors flow together and the stripes make me look at each instrument

My 6th grade students have been learning about several different color schemes this year. Most recently, we studied analogous colors, colors that are next to each other on the color wheel. Analogous colors are similar to each other; not opposites like complementary colors. Using analogous colors creates a harmonious color scheme. My students each picked two colors of tempera paint, and I showed them how to slowly blend one into the other to create a gradation. Then, we looked at silhouettes…

For the Principles of Design I did balance, contrast, emphasis, movement, pattern, and rhythm. The hardest I thought was rhythm because you had to combine movement and pattern together.

This drawing shows proportion, but and uneven use of proportion. His head is bigger than his body and that is proportionally incorrect

In this picture there is red, green, yellow, and blue. Red and green are complementary. Blue and orange are complementary.
