From the earth's embrace, the clay takes form,
As I mold the bowl, both sturdy and warm.
Smooth and round, with edges so fine,
Crafting a vessel, where history align.

With delicate hands, I etch the patterns in,
Aztec designs, where stories begin.
Geometric shapes and symbols so bold,
Crafting a bowl, where tales are told.

Jaspreet | Handmade Ceramics for everyday on Instagram: "A question I get asked very often is how do you keep large plates and platters flat without warping. Here are my tips to make sure you get nice flat bases every time. First and foremost, make sure that you have a uniform slab of clay. Uneven slabs can lead to uneven drying, resulting in warping. Step 2 is to compress your clay before you start building. It might seem like a small step, but it can make a big difference! Another effective trick is to ensure slow, uniform drying. Cover it with plastic and add some weights on top to keep the base flat. You can use kiln posts, glaze bottles or other pieces from your studio to weigh down your pieces. The plastic covering helps promote uniform drying, which is essential for avoiding warping Ceramic Techniques, How To Make Ceramic, Pottery Techniques, Pottery Handbuilding, Hand Built Pottery, Ceramic Plates, Ceramic Tray, Clay Plates, Ceramics Ideas Pottery

Jeanette Stevens on Instagram: "7" plates the easy way 😍 After success with a 12" Platter using this technique I followed on by making some smaller plates on the Hartley and Nobel Bat system. This allows to leave them to dry on the bat slowly under plastic for a few days and when they pop off the base is super smooth and barely any trimming required. Thrilled how these dried and bisque fired so flat. Next up is the glaze session and glaze chips are in mindset for these plates for our own home. Clay used Millennium Stoneware from @valentineclays in the UK #farforestceramics #wheelthrownplates #potteryplates #platesofinstagram #plates #potteryhandbuilt #easyplates #hartleyandnoble #potteryhack #potterytips #ceramicsofinstagram" Glaze, Stoneware, Ceramics, Pottery Plates, Clay Platter, Small Plates, Wheel Thrown, Hand Built, Chips
