Überwältigt von der Mischung unterschiedlicher Düfte schlängelt man sich durch die schmalen, verwinkelten Gänge des Gewürz-Souks, der zum Schutz vor der Sonne von einer Holzbalkenkonstruktion überdacht wird. Die Händler sind redegewandt und geben mit viel Freude Auskunft über die verschiedenen Gewürze, die sich in den Jutesäcken in bunter Farbenpracht aufreihen. Die Wände der kleinen Läden sind bis an die Decke bestückt mit Gewürzen, Nüssen und getrockneten Früchten.
