You still get the benefit of the contrasting colors, but also get the benefit of colors next to each other. Split complementary

In this picture there is red, green, yellow, and blue. Red and green are complementary. Blue and orange are complementary.

Complimentary Colors - All colors have a complimentary color. These are located directly opposite each other on the color wheel. Complimentary pairs contain all the primary colors and are therefore harmonious. The placement of these two colors next to each other cause the vibration effect.
