✨ “But… you don’t look disabled?” 💭 Disabilities don’t have a look. They can be visible or invisible, and just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s not there. Let’s break the stereotypes and raise awareness for all kinds of disabilities. ❤️ #endometriosis #endo #adenomyosis #pcos #pots #eds #sunflowerlanyard #DisabilityAwareness #InvisibleDisability #EndTheStigma #InclusionMatters

Happy International Women’s Day folks! This is post 1/3 (probably?) for today. If you do nothing else today, I’d highly recommend taking a few minutes to read up on some powerful women. Why not start with disability advocate Judy Huemann? Huemann died about a year ago, but during her life she became known as “The mother of the disability rights movement” and was a compassionate educator and power behind the inclusion of disability rights in international development. #internationalwomensday...

Disabilities look different for everyone. Some are visible, some are invisible. But one thing remains the same – the need for acceptance and understanding. Let's strive to create a world where acceptance looks the same for everyone, regardless of their abilities. #DisabilityAwareness #MomsInMotion

We all know what disabilities look like…or do we? Disabilities come in all forms, shapes and sizes. Just because you cannot see a person's disability does not mean they do not have one. Physical disabilities might be external and visible to most. But are you aware mental disabilities are mostly internal. You do not know what kind of internal struggles someone is having. Be kind to everyone! #disabilityawareness #invisibleillness #hiddenillness #mentalillnessfeelslike #endthestigma

Let's talk about invisible disabilities. I grew up up several learning disabilities including dyslexia and dyscalculia and ADHD. Did you know about 25% of U.S. adults have a disability, and 20% of Americans have an INVISIBLE disability. I'm advocating for you 🤟❤️ 📲 Follow @disxability for more encouraging content and conversations around disability awareness, advocacy and personal growth.

A lil' late on this, but it's okay because EVERYDAY should be 🌟 #InternationalDayofDisabledPersons 🌟, anyways! 😉 Let us use this as a gentle reminder that "disabled" is a descriptor like any other (short, tall, fat, brunette) and every time we shy away from it, we diminish a disabled person's story, struggles, or identity. For a disabled person to show up in this 🌎️ exactly as they are is something we should ENCOURAGE and UPLIFT. Here's to doing more of that! 💕 . . . #sslm #disability

Finding Out Your Child Has A Learning Disability: How Will You Maintain A Positive Outlook? One of the worst things parents can ever experience is discovering that their child has a disability. Many will consider physical disabilities to be more difficult, but learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD) can be just as challenging and devastating. […]
