Derby Tiara Countesses of Derby| Royal Noble Jewel History : The #Derbytiara rests on a band of pairs of stylized buds between collet-set diamonds, surmounted by a sequence of palmettes outlined by diamond borders linked at the base to lotus flowers graduated toward the back. The design is very close to that made in 1892 by Skinner of Orchard Street for the Duchess of Devonshire, mother of the Countess of Derby, who was presumably given this tiara at the time of her marriage in 1889 #palmette

the duke and princess of windsor's stolen carrier tiara is featured in this poster

7th June and today's tiara was made by Cartier in 1936 for the Duchess of Windsor. She was photographed wearing it several times. In 1946 whilst staying at Ednam Lodge in England, the Duchess was the victim of a jewel theft. A tiara was listed as one of the missing items, believed to be this one. It was never found. As much as the Duchess of Windsor loved jewels, her taste and lack of tiaras has always left me puzzled.
