Download this STL Model for made by tone001. Design also available in STEP. These files let you recycle all those old 3D printer filament spools we have lying around into a handy storage tower. The trays have room for little paper labels and 3 slots for dividers. Great for electronic components, crafting items or workshop bits and bobs. For each 200mm diameter spool you will need: - 8 x Spool trays - 1 x Spool connectors - 1 x Spool Tray Rail - and as many tray dividers as needed You can…

several spools of thread in a plastic container

New filament spools from a different supplier were wider and could not fit in my original/ old design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:773044) so I made version 2, here, that would fit multiple reels in a single box. Added a simplified filament dispenser opening that prints a lot faster. But requires a pair of M3*8mm screws to secure, and a short PTFE tube to provide a smooth flow. Maybe it will bend a bit in the middle in this case i also created an bracket to support the middle. You shoud print this in ABS oder PETG. I didn´t tryed it in PLAI printed it with a 0.4 nozzle with 4 perimeters for stability. Do not use less then 25% infill (triangular or honeycomb).I used 25% and it works fine You maybe need a brim…
