Kurrent was a script that normally was written with flexible pointed steel nibs in Germany from 1856 until about 1924. Copperplate, (called Écriture Anglaise (English Roundhand) or simply Anglaise by the French, and probably the Spanish and Italians), this was the main writing style of the British (and the French as far as I can tell) during the Victorian period. In America, Spencerian script derives from this in the early 1800s. This is page 194 of The Universal Penman, first published c. 1740–1741. An example of George Bickham's English roundhand lettering and engraving skills.
