People sometimes assume that spiders are insects. But in fact, they are relatives of insects. They are part of a group called arachnids (uh- RACK-nidz). Other arachnids include scorpions, ticks, mites, and harvestmen. Perhaps this will clarify the identity of that “thing” crawling around on your kitchen floor.
