Keijo (Seoul): Seoul:  Sontag Hotel (손탁호텔), the first European hotel in Seoul. Built 1902 and razed in 1922.  Formerly a private hotel of the Imperial Korean Household, it was located in the Legation Quarter adjacent to the French Embassy and about 1 mile north of Namdaemun Station.  Per "Terry's Japanese Empire" (1914, Houghton Mifflin, New York/Boston) it featured electric lights, free baths, a reading room stocked with periodicals from around the world, French cooking, and fresh milk!
