Extreme horror (read TW) Bart is an awful person and he is looking for his perfect match. He is a numbers guy, loves data, and shares statistics throughout the entire book. He did his research and knows what women like and what they don't like when they're looking for a partner. He is alsso a very disgusting and horrible human being who does horrific things. Oh, he works at a burger joint, so it's safe to say I won't be eating at a fast food restaurant for a while
Heaven by Mieko Kawakami
I had been wanting to read a book by Kawakami for a while after seeing positive feedback on Breasts and Eggs, so I picked Heaven. I must say, this was not what I was expecting at all. I definetly wasn't disappointed, though. The way Kawakami encapsulates such a disheartening life for the main character in this book is nothing short of incredible. I was crying 30 pages into it. The relationship between Kojima and our main character, whose name I don't remember being revealed, leaves the reader on their toes, wondering if the book will take the turn of a romance novel. It doesn't. The graphic, in depth depictions of violence and bullying in Heaven will have you question your own sense of morality and humility, leaving you heartbroken at its end. 10/10 please read this book.
