"Seoul: Lily pads" ca. 1904. 'Kyonghoeru' (Happy Meetings Hall) in Kyongbok Palace. First constructed during the reign of Taejong (3rd king, 1400-1418), was named by the king's eldest son, prince Yangnyong, who inscribed plaque. Destroyed by Japanese in 1592 and restored in 1867 by the regent. 48 supporting pillars: inner are round and the others square (symbolizing Heaven and Earth).
