Spectacular and rare Meiping vase is distinguished by sublime stone of roses hues and by high artistc quality. The lidded vessel has a refined, elegant look, with a balance achieved between the delicate details of prunus sprigs and blossoms carved in high relief and smooth, glossy surface of the vase, utilized as the backdrop. The surface of the vessel is polished to create a waxy sheen, la guang, so typical of the jades of the 1700s.
